CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE ON
THE RESULTS OF THE
JAN 26th SPECIAL ELECTION
Dear Supporters and Volunteers,
I want to start by saying a big thank you. A tremendous effort, unprecendent for a special election, was put forth by hundreds of Washington County volunteers, along with many more throughout the state. Grassroots-wise, regardless of the results, it was a great way to start 2010.
However, as far as the outcome of the January 26th election, there's no way other way to put it. I know were all dissappointed in the result. Oregon's private economy will now suffer the damage as state government grows at an unsustainable rate. Now, the Democrats will raise more taxes, spend more on things they shouldn't, threaten cuts to core state services, and expect to get away with it.
One thing is clear: we told the truth and our opponents distorted, deceived, and, in some key instances, outright lied in order to win. They also had more monetary resources and could repeat their deceptions and distortions as much as four times as often to voters. So where do we go from here? We must:
- Continue to present the truth and expose the lies of the Ruling Democrats.
