Precinct Net - How would it work?
JOIN OUR PRECINCT VOLUNTEER NET
WHAT IS THAT??? WELL, TAKE A LOOK!!!
The basic function of the precinct network is to set up networks of volunteer in our local neighborhood primarily in order to be ready to walk door-to-door during GOTV (Get Out The Vote at election time), petition signing drives, and voter ID/Registration drives. The goals of each level of this organization will be to:
- Identify/Recruit Volunteers
- Train them
- Communicate with them (Phone Trees)
- Motivate them to achieve targets
- Measure and Monitor Performance
County Precinct Organization Chair
The County Precinct Organization Chair will define the overall network structure and organize training for the county precinct network. They will:
- Train the House District Chairs and assist where needed to train Precinct coordinators.
- Track the overall county precinct volunteer network and assist House District Chairs in defining strategy to fill holes within their district.
- Together with WA County GOP leadership define roles and activities for precinct network and keep training materials up to date at all levels.
House District Chairs
House District chairs will identify, recruit, and organize Precinct coordinators (at least one per precinct) for the State House Legislative District that they chair. There should be two co-chairs for each House District. They will:
- Help recruit precinct coordinators from PCP and GOP Team Leader lists, moving to Republican volunteers in their district to fill in holes.
- Train precinct coordinators in how to manage their precincts (County GOP leadership will help in training) and keep track of precinct coordinator recruitment of precinct volunteers, helping with strategy where needed.
- Keep the Complete Campaigns database for their district volunteers up to date.
Precinct Coordinators
Precinct Coordinators will be in charge of recruiting and organizing the volunteers in their precinct. They will use PCP and GOP Team Leader lists, as well as the Republican Voter Database for their precinct, to recruit precinct volunteers. They will:
- Ensure their precinct is covered with enough volunteers to walk the precinct with a reasonable amount of time per walker (50 or fewer Republican households per volunteer is the target).
- With the help of their House District Chair, train the precinct volunteers in their precinct.
- Participate in walks in their precinct during these efforts along with the rest of their precinct volunteer network.
- Use Voter Vault for walk and call lists, and to keep voter ID and registration information up to date.
Precinct Volunteers
Precinct volunteers walk door to door in their precinct area to Get Out The Vote in general elections, gather petition signatures and ID/Register voters.
Other GOP volunteer activities (callers, office volunteers, etc) will be handled through county GOP Headquarters. Candidate volunteers will be handled by the respective campaigns and these efforts can be coordinated with/supported by the county precinct network once the Republican candidates for office have been determined.
